We all know that feeling when you see Christmas ads in August, or when the first family member announces that they’ve started their shopping in April. But when is it really ‘too early’ to start planning for Christmas?

Believe it or not, at Fleurtations, we are already busy bringing festive ideas to life for our clients across the country – and we started our planning in January!

Christmas is one of the busiest times for business owners, so we start our work early to make sure it all runs smoothly, from design to installation.

With lockdown and restrictions preventing many of us from celebrating properly last year, this year is set to be huge, and we can’t wait to bring the magic of Christmas back to venues after a year like no other.

Not sure what to do with your space? We’ve put together a handy guide to some of our favourite unique installations to inspire you into the festive spirit.

Sometimes simple and traditional is best

When it comes to Christmas décor, you might be tempted to switch things up according to yearly trends. We say if in doubt, keep it simple. What could be more gorgeous than a traditional silver and gold theme? Take a look at this window display we created for Black Ivy last year where the simple sparkle and warm lights do the talking.

Scale is everything

We designed this traditional entryway installation for The Intercontinental Hotel on Edinburgh’s George Street. With such an impressive and grand building to compliment – we choose to go big and bold to make a statement. With this install, scale was everything. By making the wreaths differing sizes, we were able to create a moment for guests as they approach the grand doors. What do you think?

Compliment your colour scheme

Just because it’s Christmas time doesn’t mean you have to stick to red and gold. In fact, choosing a colourway that compliments your soft furnishings and interiors means you’ll get the use of your installation all season – including right through to New Year. At the Adamson, we chose to reflect the blue and warm grey tones already present to create something that felt wintery but not all-out Christmas.

Bring the North Pole to Scotland

We loved creating this Winter Wonderland display at The Caledonian Hotel in Edinburgh. Christmas decorations aren’t just for the grown-ups, and this installation was particularly popular with kids, who just couldn’t get enough of it. Christmas installations can be a real attraction for customers so it’s worth the effort and expense for the photo opportunities that it brings all season long.

Whatever your brief and budget, we’ll make it work

Whether it’s traditional or colourful, bright, or rustic, live or artificial, we can create a bespoke Christmas display for your business. We’re with you every step of the way (we’re not actually Santa’s elves, but we’d like to think we are).
